Our Mānuka extract is derived from the Leptospermum scoparium plant, which is native to New Zealand. It has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and wound healing properties, as well as being a great addition to your regular skincare routine.

HOW TO ADD
The information below is important, it can be a lot to take in, so stay with us, and we'll explain. We know not everyone is a math whiz, so we've got your back with our dilution calculator!
This is a pure Mānuka extract, which must be mixed with your favourite moisturiser or a carrier oil, before applying topically. Despite being big fans of the outdoors, and what nature provides, our powerful extract is here thanks to science.
Depending on what you're using our extract for, you may benefit from a particular strength, or concentration. Changing the amounts of our extract, and what you're mixing it with, is what changes the strength of the end product. Think of it like you're making a hot cuppa, how much water or milk you add changes the end result.

DOSAGE RECOMMENDATIONS
Applying Pure Mānuka Extract directly on your skin, at its full concentration on human skin isn't generally recommended due to factors like bioavailability and penetration, individual variation, chronic versus acute use, and overall skin health. We recommend the below strengths:
Eczema: 5%
Additive to your regular skincare: 1 - 2%
Sensitive skin/face: 0.3 - 0.5%
Wounds/target cream: 2 - 3%
Acne: Start with 1% for the first week, and if acne persists, increase to 2%
Shampoo for a healthy scalp and hair: 0.5 - 1%
Shampoo for dandruff, itchy scalp, or seborrheic dermatitis: 1 - 2%
For children, it's best to reduce all concentrations by 0.5 - 1%
CONCENTRATION CALCULATOR
CONCENTRATION VS. EFFICIENCY
While 0.3% strength is indicated as being effective for anti-bacterial uses, other concentrations may be desired for different purposes or for individual skin sensitivity. Higher concentrations are not necessarily "more efficient" but are stronger and require more caution. Too much of a good thing, and all that.
DROPS PER BOTTLE
5ml: 100
10ml: 200
20ml: 400
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS
Patch Test: Regardless of the strength, always perform a patch test on a small, inconspicuous area of skin, to check for any allergic reactions or irritation, before applying your blend more broadly.
Individual Sensitivity: Skin sensitivity varies greatly. Some individuals may react to even low concentrations. Pay attention to your skin's response and reduce the concentration or discontinue use if any adverse reactions occur.
Duration of Use: Higher concentrations should only be used for short periods. For long-term or daily use, stick to lower dilutions.
Area of Application: Avoid applying Mānuka extract blends, on broken or severely irritated skin, or on sensitive areas like the eyes and mucous membranes.
Children and Vulnerable Populations: Lower dilutions are generally recommended for children, and it is advisable to consult with a qualified healthcare professional or certified aromatherapist before using extract blends on children, pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, or those with underlying health conditions.
Always prioritize safety and, when in doubt, consult with a qualified healthcare professional or certified aromatherapist for personalized advice on the appropriate and maximum safe concentration for your specific needs.
